Background & Brief

Oxford Diecast is a leading British Company that supplies diecast vehicle to the collector, gift and promotional markets. Started in 1993 Oxford has a collectors club with worldwide membership. Oxford Diecast realised that their existing ecommerce website and accompanying platform were outdated and in need of modernisation. With over 40,000 visitors to the site each month, it was the aim to provide customers with a fresh approach to navigating & exploring the website, making it easier to find the right product for them in a catalogue of over 4,000 products.

Oxford Diecast's ecommerce website was desgined to refresh the whole online offering and brand online. Not only was it imperative customers could find the right products using various methods of searching and filtering products, but with over half the visitors to Oxford Diecast using a mobile device, the website had to look and work just as well as a responsive design.

Ongoing Digital Growth Work

We developed a digital growth strategy for Oxford Diecast to engage their large customer database with the brand and drive more sales through the website. We also helped them create sub-brands of Oxford Diecast, including Oxford Rail and Oxford Figurines to target specific segments of their demographics. We have been working with Oxford Diecast on the following:

  • Newsletter strategy that engaged existing and new subscribers with regular on-brand content around new product releases and specific sub-brand material.
  • Content strategy that focussed on providing customers with engaging content that they wouldn't find anywhere else, such as insights into the design and manufacturing process of new diecast models.
  • A dynamic retargeting advert campagin that targeted visitors who left the website or abandoned the checkout with precise product adverts to convert them into customers.
  • Site testing and optimisation that ensures the ecommerce user experience is the best it can be to maximise the likelihood of customer's purchasing.

 

 

    We had spoken to Click Digital Growth about our existing website and the possibility of improving it. Early on it became clear that things had moved on and the current platform we had was more than outdated. It didn’t need updating it needed a new fresh approach. We were taken through the process and had discussions with Click Digital Growth on the platforms that were available and began the trialling process with a target date. Then to our horror our website went down and much of our historical data was lost by the current provider. We made a quick decision to go live with the new website and to let the team at Click Digital Growth take control. Fortunately for us, they got us through what could have been a disaster, but turned out to be blessing. In less than 24 hours our new website went live. Today our website is evolving and we are seeing increased sales each month. I thought I knew a lot about websites, but the whole experience has made me realise that I didn’t.
